Reichsvertretung der deutschen Juden

The Reich Deputation of German Jews (Reichsvertretung der deutschen Juden), founded on September 17, 1933 (after 1935, Reich Deputation of Jews in Germany, Reichsvertretung der Juden in Deutschland), and headquartered in Berlin, was meant to serve as an umbrella organization for Jewish organizations and regional associations, acting as the political representative of German Jews' interests in dealing with government agencies. From 1938 on, every Jew living in the German Reich had to belong to the Reichsverband der Juden in Deutschland. In 1939, the Reichsvereinigung der Juden in Deutschland was placed under the control of the Reich Security Main Office (RSHA).
